Robert Townsend says: My great aunt bought this 1966 Thunderbird Hardtop in July of 1966 and it has never spent a night out of the garage since it was new. Just this week she wanted me to have it and I took it home to its new home. She knew that I am able to work on i, have a garage to keep it in, and I will enjoy driving it. <p>The car has 131,000 miles and is almost in original shape, except of new starter, generator and battery. I have admired this car ever since they bought it back in 1966. Before I took it home, I was given every work order from the dealer for all oil changes and maintenance. In the packet was a receipt for changing the head lights from the dealer. The car has never been driven by anyone except for my aunt and no smokers ever light up inside. Except of a small worn spot on the drivers seat, the interior is like show room condition. Even the paint is original along with the Washington State license plates. On the dash is the placard with the Thunderbird logo and has her name engraved in the placard. For the last 25 years the car has been sitting in her garage and since she is 88 years old, she just could not drive it anymore. She also wanted it to stay in the family and that is how I was offered the car, but only if I kept it garaged at night. This Thunderbird is part of the
Family Ties Roster.
