WC145 says: I just bought this TBird in May 2012 from a gentleman that owned it for almost 15 years. He said it was a west coast car and he had purchased it from someone in Las Vegas. He hadn't been using it much over the last few years but kept it in a heated garage. The car is very solid, no rot or rust underneath, a little it of paint bubling/rust at wheel well corners and a small area of old bondo/body work on right quarter panel. Didn't need much in the way of mechanical work beyond catching up on maintenance, replacing rusted exhaust, a tired carb, tires, that sort of thing. The interior is very nice and just needs cleaning, maybe new carpets as they're quite faded and have some stains. - - - - - - - - -
It is well equipped with all of the electric accessories, reclining passenger seat with head rest, AM/FM radio, etc. Surprisingly (to me anyway), for as well equipped as it is it does not have A/C. - - - - - - - - - My plan for the car is to hot rod it up a little and have a nice cruiser that looks good, sounds good, and is safe and fun for my wife and I to enjoy on the weekend, crusie night at the ice cream stand, that sort of thing. So far, it's received a good tune up and service, a Pertronix Ignitor II ignition module, Accel high voltage coil, 17x8 Coy's C57 wheels and 235/50R-17 Cooper tires, a Holley 1850 600CFM carb, and a complete 2.25" exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. I also added chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Other than that, it's gotten a good cleaning and that's it, she's ready to drive and I'm taking her out as often as weather permits. It's a great car that looks good and turns heads wherever I go.
