This 1966 Thunderbird Town Hardtop resides in England. The invoice shows the car was sold to Fellini Mayfield Ford Inc, 1600 Boonville, Springfield, MO. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ken Onions says this: I bought the car from Specialty sales Benicia California in September 2009 whilst on vacation. The car was shipped to the UK and arrived in January 2010. Other than a brake pipe and exhaust leak the car passed our Ministry of Transport annual roadworthy test and has passed every year since with no work required. The car is garaged and has been professionally wax oiled and undercoated. The car is used regularly and is fabulous to drive. I have a BMW for my daily driver and the Thunderbird is much more engaging and can easily reach 90 mph and does not hold up traffic flow. Since buying the car its value has increased by 300% so a good investment but it is not for sale. I think the Thunderbird is underrated by the press although even Hemmings is starting to acknowledge the quality of our cars alongside the usual muscle and so called exotics they regularly espouse. The car is original other than one respray in the original Diamond Blue and all the items on the build sheet including the mechanical clock work. It has done 25,000 miles but I suspect it has gone round the clock once but I cannot be certain. All the chrome and stainless steel is perfect and so are all the badges and the original hub caps. The car shines and is always the subject of interest from all ages. According to the Thunderbird Club in the UK it is the only 1966 Town Hardtop in the UK. There are not too many Thunderbirds in the UK as most American cars came over with members of your armed forces stationed here up until the 1980’s and and most seem to have taken their Tbirds home. - - - - - In 2015, this Thunderbird participated in the Wilton House Classic and Supercar event. It was selected for a podium interview by Lord Pembroke, owner of Wilton House in Wiltshire, Salisbury, England.
