Dan says: My grandfather bought this 1966 Thunderbird new, from Fair City Ford, in Pomona, California and transferred it to my mother, when he went blind, and mom gifted it to me, when she stopped driving in 2008. It is currently not running, but close to being in running shape. It needs some hoses and rubber, under the hood, a tune-up, new, fresh fuel, and some interior work. Maybe a carb rebuild. Currently has 134K miles on it. A complete drivetrain rebuild was performed just past 100K miles, so there is only about 30K+ miles on drivetrain.
It has never been in an accident, and never been completely repainted. The front edge of the hood, had a parking lot ding, from a loaded shopping cart, that was repaired, and spot-repainted. The color is turquoise metallic. It is currently at my home, in California. All-in-all, it is in very good condition, and I hope to have the fuel replaced, and rubber replaced soon, and have it running, again. It has no missing parts and no cancer. Currently, all parts are original, but like I say, it needs some interior parts (both door panels, bucket seat upholstery and a driver's seat frame. Rear seat, and the rest of the interior, is in very good condition.) So far, the only registration cards I have been able to locate, go back to the purchase, in 1973, of the tags to expire in 1974, but my sister and I, are still looking.
