Ray Spreen says that he had RN 27525 shipped from Canterbury, Vermont to Bellaire, Texas in early 2008. It was a "one owner" car and has 67,700 miles on the odometer. This 1966 Thunderbird was part of the North Texas Vintage Thunderbird Club show in June, 2010. UPDATE October 2010, Ray adds: This car was ordered from Taiwan Motor Co. in June 1965 by Major Linn H. Geyer, Jr. Options include 428, Selectaire Conditioner, Power Seat Driver, Reclining Seat and Headrest, Tinted Glass, Safety Convenience Control Panel, 815 x 15 WSW Tires and rear fender shields. It was assembled on Sept. 14, 1965 in Wixom as an export car (DSO 97) and delivered to Burlington, NJ on Oct.28,'65. It was first registered in Easton, PA. until '69, then moved to El Paso, TX. Through 1974. Final destination was Norwich, CT. where it was used sparingly for the next 20 yrs., until being stored in 1993. Major Geyer's daughter Sandi inherited the car in 2005 and pulled it from storage to begin mechanical restoration. Sandi drove it for a few years and decided to sell it to another owner to complete the restoration. I became the second family owner of the car in April '08, shipped it to Houston, completing the mechanical restoration and then tackled the paint, chrome and interior. The car was mechanically stripped to bare steel and found to be rust and accident free. The car showed 67k miles, verified with the substantial records included with it. The car has been driven another 8k miles in the last 4 years. It has placed first in Primary Div. in two VTCI Regional conventions in 2010 and '11. It achieved Senior Car status, placing first in the Primary Div. at the 2012 VTCI International in Charleston, SC. - - UPDATE December 2021, classic.com reports it was sold in Sequim, Washington on June 13, 2021.
