(UPDATE March 2023): - - Russell Lunceford says: This beautiful Thunderbird was built in September, 1965. It was ordered by the Salt Lake City, Utah Regional Executive as a Brass Hat car. It is Arcadian blue with a red leather interior. Cody Burch confirmed that this combination was not an option for regular customers to select. It was later returned to Bennett Ford in Salt Lake City and purchased by a Dr. Larson from Salt Lake City. His wife loved the car and took it over. I saw the car in downtown SLC and fell in love with it. Mrs. Larson's daughter in law was driving it. She told me Mrs. Larson would never sell the car, but gave me her contact info. I called her, she said she would never sell her "teeter-bird". I kept in touch, I went by at least once a year to see her and the car….. Finally in 1976, she called me. Her husband had developed an ear problem and could no longer bear the wind in a convertible….she was reluctantly going to sell it. She had long ago promised that if she ever sold it, I would have first option. I jumped at the chance, she told me she would sell it to me for $1,500.00. She had it service one last time, her mechanic was upset because he had wanted the car and told her she was out of her mind to sell it to me so cheaply! We met at her attorney's office and I bought it. I was 25 and lived in Roy Utah. I got married in 1980, in 1985 we moved to sunny Arizona….where we currently live. The car currently has 121,000 miles on it, is driven for pleasure and goes to my son when I die. Then to his son…… It lives in the garage with the 2003 that I bought to keep it company.
