This Thunderbird was previously owned by Van Gainous: [Former owner} Scot says: My 1966 Thunderbird Town Landau was invoiced 3/16/66 and shipped 3/17/66 to King Motor Company, Downey, California. Until her retirement in 1991, it was the daily driver of Mrs. E.O.W of Downey. The Thunderbird was also retired at that time and moved to Las Vegas with Mr. and Mrs. W. Over the next 5 years it was mechanically refurbished as needed. Other than 1 repaint in 1982 it is still in original condition. It is fully equipped with the 428 V-8, California Emissions Control, White Wall Tires, Power Windows and Vent Windows, Power Driver Seat, Selectaire Conditioner, AM-FM radio, Rear Speaker, Deluxe Wheel Covers and Fender Shields. The original MSRP was $5,754.87 and the original trade in vehicle was a red 1958 Ford Country Squire. I purchased it from Mr. and Mrs. W. in November, 1996 and drove it back to Florida without incident. It now has 152,000 miles on it, but easily passes for a 52,000 mile car. On December 22, 2005, Dave McGowan of Florida notified the Registry that he now owns Registry Number 7461. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - UPDATE September 2011, it is for sale on eBay and located in Bradenton, Florida. UPDATE December 2011, it is for sale and located in St. Petersburg, Florida. UPDATE February 2015, Scot F. notified the Registry that he owns RN 7461 and it is in Texas. UPDATE September 2020, Scot adds these comments: I replaced the under hood components of the AC with modern aftermarket, but kept all of the original equipment. I am doing some preservation now. I pulled fender well and brushing off the surface rust and painting these areas. I found out the vacuum lines going into dash are are shot. I am not sure if I'm going to tackle that or not. I am considering selling her as she really needs a major full paint to make sure she doesn't rust out anywhere. The only rust, other than surface I have found is the battery tray. I wire brushed the area, hit it with rust converter, and painted it for preservation purposes. 160278 original miles. It runs good, I'm hoping for great after fixing vacuum lines. - - - - UPDATE, Scot says: I sold this car to Frank's Speed Shop in Euless Texas, around November 2020. I do not know where it went from there.
