Kurt Schuster says: This 1966 Thunderbird Town Landau was my grandfather's. He basically bought it, and then parked it for about twenty years. Whenever I convinced my family to let me start restoring it (right about the time I started driving) it became a very daunting task that I'm still at. The car is in fairly good shape for its age, I'm not sure of how many owners it has had before my grandfather, but there was obvious wear in the transmission (burnt) and a weld had cracked on the engine block. It has SelectAire Conditioner, AM radio with 8-track tape, Highway Pilot Speed Control with Unique Steering Wheel, power windows and vent windows, and tinted glass. Otherwise thoguh everything was in decent condition, and I am very happy and proud to say that this car has everything orignial (even if it ain't perfect) and is numbers matching. Right now I'm in the middle of the laborious process of derusting, degreasing, and repainting everything I've taken off and out of the vehicle. I would say I'm halfway through. Also, this vehicle was probably bought through Yoder Ford down here because it was the only Ford dealership for a number of years, and that being said, I would love ot uncover the history of my car before my grandfather had it due to the fact that he can't remember most of the details.
