Dennis Barton says: As far as I can tell I am around the 4th owner of this 1966 Thunderbird Town Landau. I purchased it on August 4, 2004 from Gary Leontowicz for $7500.00 CND.
Eugene Benz owed it prior to Gary. (both guys are from Regina SK Canada) Gary owned the vehicle from June 03/04 to Aug 04/04. Without looking (the car is in winter storage) there is about 85,000 original miles on the car. It has been painted red over the original Medium Sage Gold [Sauterne Gold - Z] metallic. It has a black vinyl roof - landau - with a black vinyl interior [26]. Options include power windows and SelectAire Conditioner. Other than detailing the car (I found a 1966 American quarter under the back seat) I haven't done much to it other than drive it. The radiator, tranny, and carb all leak so I will have to fix those up once the weather warms up here. I plan to enjoy the car while maintaining it's originality. The paint job wasn't the best so I plan to re-do that at some point. The red looks good but I would like to see one in the original color before I decide on a color. I have discovered that it has 1965 hubcaps. Everything else is 1966. The original owners manual has an Arizona dealership name on it so I assume it came from there originally. I plan to track down as much as I can on the car. I will follow-up information as I track it down.
