Bill Prince says: I purchased this car in November 2008. I had one like it when I was 21 yrs old back in 1970. It was also a white 2 dr with black interior. However it did not have the black top and it had a 390 cu. in. engine. I used to think that the car looked better and cleaner without the vinyl top, but I now see the car looking more streamlined with the vinyl top. I always loved the clean jet lines of this year Thunderbird. I also love the power dome hood, as viewed from the drivers seat. This Thunderbird gets way more attention than I expected. Maybe because of the clean lines shown off in the white color and maybe because of the fact that these years are not seen much and were never collected in the past. They were just driven to they went to the junk yard. It is a lot tighter and quieter Thunderbird than the previous unibody years of Thunderbirds. Big difference! While it looks larger and people think that it is a bigger car than the previous Thunderbirds from 1961 through 1966, it is almost the same size!
It is only 1/2 inch longer than the 1966 It is 1/10 inch narrower than the 1966! It is 1/4 inch taller than the 1966 It is 300 pounds lighter than the 1966! So, you could say that it is the same size as the earlier 4 passenger Tbirds, but lighter! My car has SelectAire Conditioner, power windows, power seat, passenger side outside mirror, and power antenna. It has black vinyl roof and black vinyl interior, and was repainted in its original color.
