Larry VanMeter says: This car was purchased on ebay on 02-05-2006 and came from Butler, Kentucky. The guy I got it from did not know much history about the car. I could tell it probably has not ran since 1988 going off of the plates. There were all new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, starter, solenoid, but no carburetor. I got one on ebay for 10 bucks to see if car ran and at first it would not start. I checked all the basics and found no spark. It turned out to be the ignition coil (would love to see previous mechanics face LOL $15 part) so I took one off of my 1976 Searay boat with a Chevy 305 (HEHHEH)and she fired right up and purred like a kitten. There was only a little smoke from my $10 carb but otherwise it is a VERY sound engine. The transmission shifts well and I am currently fixing brakes and fuel tank/lines. I will update my progress soon.
