Bill Prince reported (Facebook) that he recently bought this 1955 Thunderbird. + + + + + UPDATE September 2024, Bill Prince (owner and concept designer/builder) saus: Since I acquired the car in February 2024, I have made changes to it. The changes are intended to make the car appear to be a concept car from Ford during 1954-55, called the Sky-View. My Sky-View is a "glass top" similar to the 1954-56 Ford Skyliner and 1954-55 Mercury Sun Valley. I am also making other changes to complete the concept look of the car, including a modified interior with button style door panels and seat inserts, dash mounted Mark II rear view mirror, Lincoln brake/gas pedals, green tinted plexiglass over the instruments, fog lights, front bumper guards spaced father apart, gold toned grill, tri-vanes on tail lights, Sky-View scripts on trunk lid/glove box door/top, 1954 Ford wheel covers, either 1954 modified Ford backup lights used as parking lights or modified Thunderbird parking lights with tri-vanes, 1955 Ford Fairlane crown hood crowned crests on forward hood panel and gas door, tow toned black/white floor mates, and more.
The top uses period correct Ford items including Thunderbird rear window trim/gaskets for the glass top, teal tinted plexiglass for the top, 1955 Ford dome lights for the top, Mark II style C pillar headliner, etc. Drive train will be original to the 1955 Thunderbird. The car has a rust free original body. (picture added)
