Jerry Julian says:This is the second time I've owned this particular 'Bird. I drove it from 1968 until 1974, wore it out, then sold it. It was rebuilt in 1976 using a number of 1959 parts. (Since the doors and hood are still in the '59 trim, it looks a little funny.) I'm planning on returning it to the '58 chrome when I have it painted. Meanwhile, it's a hybrid. It hasn't been driven much since I sold it--about 11,000 miles in thirty years. It's been garaged since 1984. I'm currently replacing all of the parts that have deteriorated during the 20 years of storage.
I hope to have it in the road next month, but it will be several years before restoration is complete.
