This is a 1955 Thunderbird. It is Torch Red (R) with a red and white interior (B) with was scheduled for production on September 10, 1954 (10J). According to the July/August 1974 edition of Early Bird Magazine, this Thunderbird was owned by Larry Carson of Tacoma, Washington. As of March, 2003 its status was unknown. + + + + + + UPDATE May 2012, Dennis Dole reports it was sold at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction (Lot 635) for $39,600. The seller stated this: "Original owner's manual with the salesman's name is included. This beautiful T-Bird with Torch Red exterior and white interior comes with special early features such as softtop hold downs with one set of holes, emblem on the ashtray, exhaust donuts, master cylinder dip tray, very early cast valve covers, master glide power steering, swift sure power brakes, 4-way power seats, power lift windows and engine dress-up chrome kit. Powered by a 292cid, 4-barrel V8 with 8.1:1 compression ratio, 3.75" bore, a 3.30" stroke and standard transmission with overdrive. Extensive history and documentation provided on this car."
