Lou Malden says: My 1955 Thunderbird had a complete frame-off restoration in 1989. I am CTCI #24940. My car was originally
Raven Black. I changed it to Flame Red when I had it restored in 1988-90. The car has a lot of personal touch as shown in the attached pictures. I am running two Each 4BBL Webber Carbs with progressive linkage. I am using the MSD Firing System with Electronic Ignition. As I use the car for show and cruising, I have installed an 9 Inch Ford Differential with 2.47 Gear Ratio. This configuration gives me excellent take off power while the RPM runs at 21-2200 RPM while crusing at 70 MPH. I have installed 14 Inch wheels for lower looking effects. The car has placed well in two Concours showing. I have also installed front Disk Brakes which satisfies all my stopping needs. I have recently installed Ceramic Headers with 3 1/4 Inch Aluminized Exhaust Pipes. The car is on the front cover of "Where the Cars Are" and the most recent publicity event - 2005 Calendar entitled "American Car Classics"', celebrating the 50th Anniversary of THUNDERBIRDS 2005.
