This 1955 Thunderbird is part of the not-yet-documented "first 1000" VIN list. The gathering of information about this Thunderbird is of top priority to the Registry. Status 99 is reserved for 1955 Thunderbirds which have a last-six of 101000 or lower, and are not yet visually documented. UPDATE October 2014, Dennis P. reports that this Thunderbird is alive and well near Albuquerque, New Mexico. He adds: It has minor paint and body damage. The heater fan and core and radio appear to be missing. All window glass is good. The body seems to be solid and rust free. The interior is in very good condition and may have been replaced in the recent past. The car is equipped with a 292 engine, cast aluminum valve covers, a '57 4bbl intake manifold with Edelbrock carburetor, 12 volt conversion, white porthole top, power steering, recent radial tires, full wheel covers, and '56 tail light lenses. - - - - (picture added, status changed to Intact)-----The fan shroud, heater parts, original and aftermarket radios for the car have been located. It has manual windows. The engine is a '56 or '57 and may have been rebuilt. The generator was recently replaced with an alternator. - - - - - UPDATE May 2018, it is for sale in Albuquerque.
