This is a 1955 Thunderbird. It is Thunderbird Blue (T) with a turquoise and white interior (C). It was scheduled for production on October 23, 1954 (23K) and ordered through the Kansas City, Missouri District Sales Office (KS). As of August, 2003 it was in Columbus, Ohio.
The original owner was Wally Enders who owned a body shop in Bucyrus, Ohio. There is no indication that the car was ever shipped to Kansas City but may have been traded among dealers to satisfy customers. He purchased the little Bird new from the local dealer whom he said; “made the trade with the ordering Ford dealer in Kansas City so he could get the Thunderbird Blue color.” Wally drove and raced the car for many years adding the current racing camshaft that he said “Was a hot one but not too hot since it had a Fordomatic transmission!”
In 1973, he transferred the car through Kennedy Motors in Marion, Ohio so that Dr. Bill Williams could buy the Bird on a trade-in of his. (Estimated mileage of rebuilt engine = 78,270) Dr. Williams used the car as a summer only “driver” until selling the Bird to his niece’s husband, Ken Fallon of West Worthington, Ohio. During the 21 years that Dr. Williams owned the Bird, it was garage kept at all times and maintained only as needed. It was the dark green paint color that was the fourth coat of paint added over the original Thunderbird Blue. (There were two separate coats of white paint and filler/primer between the original blue and the dark green.) Dr. Williams added the Mag-500 wheels and unfortunately, lost the original steel wheels and hubcaps when cleaning out the basement of his office building.

As far as can be determined, Wally Enders did all of the original body work except for the left rear tail fender area and tail light which was crunched by Dr. William’s son. Dr. Williams believes that during his ownership, he replaced the carburetor with a rebuilt unit, new batteries, rebuilt starter, voltage regulator, and rebuilt fuel pump. There are no records to confirm or refute this.
